South Texas Summer Home Maintenance Checklist
Heat, humidity, and storm season all peak at the same time here. Walking the perimeter of your home with this list a couple of times over the summer catches most issues early.
Exterior walls and paint
- Check west- and south-facing walls for fading, chalking, and blistering
- Look at caulk lines around windows, doors, and where trim meets the wall
- Check for mildew on north-facing and shaded walls
Siding, trim, and fascia
- Press on fascia and trim near the roofline for softness
- Look for loose, cracked, or displaced siding panels after windy weather
- Check that soffit vents are clear and intact
Concrete and drainage
- Note stains, algae, and tire marks on the driveway and walkways
- Confirm water drains away from the slab rather than pooling against it
- Adjust sprinkler heads that spray directly onto walls
Windows
- Clear tracks and weep holes so storm water can escape
- Check screens for tears before mosquito season peaks
- Note hard-water spotting from sprinkler overspray
If the walk turns up work you'd rather hand off, send us the list. Our team reviews it and follows up about the projects we can help with.
